Twitch Drops Rust: earn them and claim them automatically

Rust is one of the heaviest users of Twitch Drops: regular campaigns hand out weapon skins and clothing for watch time. You still need to link your account, watch the right channels and remember to claim. Here is the full circuit, and how to automate it.

How do Rust Drops work?

A Rust Drops campaign rewards time spent on Twitch channels streaming Rust with the "Drops enabled" tag. Progress adds up in tiers: each tier unlocks a cosmetic item: weapon skins, clothing, deployables for your base.

Link your Steam account to Twitch

Without a linked account, watch time still counts but the reward cannot be granted to you. Linking takes two minutes from Twitch.

  1. Open the campaign page From inventory.twitch.tv, "All Campaigns", pick the Rust campaign and click "Connect".
  2. Sign in on Steam Twitch redirects you to Steam to authorize the link between the two accounts.
  3. Check the "Connected" status The campaign must show your linked account before you start watching.

Where and when to claim your Rust Drops

A completed tier is not a received tier: you must click "Claim" in the Twitch inventory before the campaign ends. Once claimed, the item shows up in Rust the next time you launch the game, through the Steam link.

That last step is exactly what players forget: time accrues, the campaign ends, and the reward expires unclaimed.

Automate claiming with StreamPulse

StreamPulse, a free browser extension, detects Rust Drops that reach 100% progress and claims them in the background while you watch. A timestamped log lists what was collected and when.

Watch time itself cannot be faked: Twitch counts it on a tab genuinely open on a Drops-enabled channel. The extension only removes the claiming chore.

FAQ

Do Rust Drops work with the stream muted?

Yes, watch time is counted independently of sound. The tab must however stay open on a Drops-enabled channel.

Can I progress on several Rust campaigns at once?

Yes, when several campaigns run at the same time, watching a Rust channel counts for every campaign you are enrolled in.

Why is my Rust skin not showing up in game?

Check that the Drop was claimed in the Twitch inventory and that the linked Steam account is the one you play on, then restart Rust.
